A few of my friends in London are in one of thse things where they own part of their house and a housing association owns the rest, so each month they pay some mortgage and some rent. If they are feeling rich they can pay off more of the housing association and own a bit more house, which is a pretty good idea.

I think there might be a thing where they the association gets a share of the gaisn when they sell the house too, but I am not sure.

I do like the idea though of a few friends going in together to buy a place. A few years down the line, one of them could move out and ’sell’ their share of the house to someone else just starting out. By then that person would hopefully have enough equity for a good deposit on his own place. And so the chain continues….

I’m not into Jimmy Eat World, HIM or the other crap that appeared although I did catch The Subways, Children Of Bodom, Ace Frehley (Ex-Kiss guitarist), Offspring, Elliott Minor, Disturbed, Pendulum, Biffy Clyro, Apocalyptica and Saxon who were pretty cool.

Again, I took fair less money than needed for the arena prices and agree that the distance between the arena and the campsite was a stupid distance but then that distance give us drinking time before the arena entrance (we managed to carry 5 crates of beer and cider between the campsite and the car alog with the tent, sleeping bags and grub!) Wheelbarrows are a blessing at a Festival, trust me!!!

An interesting experience and I am thankful to have seen Kiss that weekend although I think that Priest should have been the closing band on the Monday as that would have topped off an excellent weekend.

Life is pretty slow right now to be honest. Unfortunately I didn’t get the position with Toucan, and I’ve not heard anything back from Organic Development, so I don’t think I got that either. Not that I’m hugely bothered, because they seemed like a bunch of complete idiots, and indeed the idea of using Joomla for ever was a bit daunting. It’s not even a nice CMS.

I’m still on the job hunt, which isn’t too much fun. I’ve been sticking at the web development though. Making a fair few websites in WordPress for people, and I have been working on my own CMS focused at band websites, as there isn’t really anything that meets that specification around on the Internet.

I suppose things didn’t work out at the new(ish) place then? Where are you headed next?

I was at the back of the bus actually. I always go as far back as I can, and I was right at the back bar one seat, because the very back seat was full. If the bus is full when I get on it, and people are standing, I always walk past them and stand at the very back, in hope that they might just get it, but it never seems to happen.

I have no idea how other people may feel about having to live with me around, especially on the bus, but considering I’m polite, and stay out of everyone’s way and am generally quiet and caring, I’d imagine I’m a lot nicer to have around than people who are complaining about the bus being cramped when they’re contributing to the problem in the first place.

MU - Alongside you would be Nan, Granddad, Dad, Steve, etc. in a group called “Family”. Instead of having a group for it I just have everyone in my family with “Family” in front of their contact name, so it reads “Family Mum”, “Family Dad”, etc.

DVDs, well, they just take up a lot of space, cost a lot, and are annoying to sort through. In fact, the problem with most of this media is how much it costs, compared to how much of it there is and how much of it I want.

Books will be around for a very long time indeed, because for most people, there won’t be any need to have a digital replacement.

Fink - I kept a few of the games that were really important, such as Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate, simply because they can’t be repurchased online, and I had such fun playing them. I don’t have my SNES, Megadrive or even my Dreamcast anymore, and I really regret that.

The eBook reader doesn’t look as you’d expect. You’d expect a bright screen, like a small monitor, which would just be horrible to look at, but actually they’ve made the ambience of it quite pleasant.

However, books are awkward to hold, and actually quite uncomfortable to hold, when you are in bed. I’m not sure if anyone else finds that, but I certainly do. You have to roll around trying to get comfy, and make sure you have light on the book so that you can actually see the words, and then you have to make sure your arms are in a position that they won’t ache. It’s all very silly.

Not only that but they take up a fair amount of space in a bag, especially if you have more than one. They also weigh a fair bit, and are quite susceptible to becoming easily damaged.

Whilst an electronic book reader does take away a lot of the aesthetical value of owning a book, I think it brings in some advantages as well. Check the link to the eBook reader in my post - I think it’s quite interesting.

Well, I can understand the books thing, but it enhances real life conversation; it doesn’t replace it.

That said, I don’t like the idea of material goods, but I don’t like technology either, where it takes over good old things like BOOKS and REAL LIFE CONVERSATION. But yeah x x

Ah, I remember when I used to listen to Alkaline Trio, during my last two years of school or so. They have written a lot of meaningful songs, but I just can’t get into them again.

How can you blame this on me? How!?

I used to listen to Alkaline Trio on my way home form school last summer, obsessed with art and massive headphones, smoking Marboro reds, and a song by them came on earlier and reminded me of it all so well I nearly cried, and I was just thinking about the whole thing as I walked into my room just now, and the lyric about desstroying a cigarette when the guy suppost to quit and being really depressed and wished he had it that so nogalgic was sung EXACTLY as I entered the room.

But this is your fault.

I’ll put my music online at some point, probably when I have written and recordered more of it.

Apologies for scaring you.

If you just keep trying, in as many different ways as you want, it will improve. Like I’m okay at photography and art, and gradually I’m getting recognition, or can see it on the horizon, my exibitions getting slightly better each time.

You can sit in a radically different atmosphere to put yourself in an unexpected frame of mind just for fun, like I do, and that will help you think about jobs and stuff I’m sure.

It is actually scary, the earliest and most pronounced in my mind is something I can’t really remember but involved violins, and happened several times a day for several days.

I began to think it was because our lives are controlled by our subconcious, and dreams are like life but just not in a mind you can use normally, erm, yeah, or something ridiculously far fetched but which becomes like a horrific obsession if you have nothing better to do.

I must admit I have been very neglectful of reading lately, primarily because I want an eBook reader, and want to have all of my books on a device, to make life so much easier and more minimalist.

I usually go with a dark theme - in fact, I really like the colour scheme on your website, but for some reason this is what I ended up with, and I rather like it.

Where abouts are you moving to? Haven’t really spoken to you for a while. I’m sure you’ll walk into something no problem - you’ve got a whole ton of experience behind you, amongst the various skills and knowledge you posess.

… moving away in the summer means finding a job.  Urgently.  I cannot have no job, it would mean me and Sophie would be out on our ear(s).  But in my line of work, with my experience, I’m lucky enough to be able to walk into most jobs up there.  Apparently.  Time will tell if Comapnies share my Reed Accountancy recruiter’s optimism!

One thing I don’t like is there’s no margin on the br tags. When somebody manually starts a new line I want it to be treated as a new paragraph, but for some reason TinyMCE doesn’t seem to be doing that in the source code. Perhaps I need to update or change it or something.
