Who?

Posted April 3rd, 2007 in Archive by Darfuria

It’s so comically annoying when you’re talking to someone and they ask “Who?”, as if to ask who you’re talking about, or who was involved, when you know very well they won’t even know who you’re talking about. Most of the time when I’m asked this question I want to give false names out of spite.

I mean, if I were to say “Kate, Jim, Simon and Oliver” or “Sarah, Steve, Hazel and Tim”, who’s going to know the difference? Therefore… what. is. the. point. in. asking. that. question!?

Hmh, I dunno, I think I do that too, when you tell me stories about your friends. Sure, I don’t know who they are, but I just like knowing… for future reference maybe? :P

    You’re too easily annoyed ;p

What’s the point in you knowing for “future reference”!? Like you’re going to remember! :P

But yeah, I do agree, I am very easily annoyed.

Oi, my memory’s not that bad… I do remember some things! =p It’s still nice to know who you’re on about.

And .. as long as you don’t get annoyed at me, I don’t really mind you getting annoyed at other things – most of the time it’s cute when you’re ranting ^-^

    ugh.

Well, I think what people might be asking is “who?” in reference to them. After all, as you correctly pointed out, a name is not going to help much, but information with reference to what the person already knows is the key to this question’s answer.

It’s like relational object orientation of information regarding groups and individuals with cascading sub-level filter of relavent information. You know?

No! It’s still absolutely pointless, really!
