As I was special enough to have a Gmail account, I get to use the new Beta version of Blogger. There aren’t many changes visually, but some administration wise. Looks nice.

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006New Things
Friday, August 4th, 2006I’ve never understood why, when buying people things, they have to buy them ‘new’ things. I believe I refered to this in my Coke Zero post. I’m talking about food, again.
Were I to go and buy someone something to eat and they didn’t specify what they wanted, I’d buy them something I knew they liked, simply because I’d know they’d enjoy it and it wouldn’t be a waste of money. What’s the point in buying something for someone if you don’t know they’re going to like it; you’re just assuming?
Yeah, trying new things is good, but I think that should be out of personal choice as opposed to “well there’s this or nothing”.
If I was short on money and had say £5 for food, and I had an option of buying something I knew I liked, like pizza, or trying something new which I’ve never had before… I’d go for the pizza, simply because I know I’d like it. If I was feeling particularly rich then I’d go for the new thing, because I could always get something else if it was horrible.
Just something that has always confused me. When I want to try something new then I’ll ask for it, otherwise I’d prefer to have things I know I like.
Ok, so maybe I should just go out and buy my own food, but the joy of having someone else do it for you is endlessly enjoyable ;)
